Annually, People In Aid participates in the Future of Work Forum hosted by Lynda Gratton, Professor of Management Practice at London Business School. Through this forum themes such as resilience, engagement, organisational agility and talent innovation are discussed among more than 100 HR and strategy directors, across more than 40 companies. Participants include Unilever, Accenture, Infosys, British Telecom, Save the Children, Microsoft and Standard Chartered Bank, to name a few.

To kick off this year's forum cycle, we discussed the latest research by Lynda Gratton and Andrew Scott, Professor of Economics at London Business School, on the implications of the Hundred Year Life.

Caring for healthy careers: How to support your employees at key moments of their lives

On 14 June I had the opportunity to attend a full-day seminar led by global experts in chronic disease management, health literacy and managing work/life balance, among other topics, as part of Vanbreda International's bi-annual IGO seminar. In its sixth edition, this seminar attracted more than 100 HR Directors from across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and the US to discuss and debate the latest trends in chronic disease prevention, when and how to obtain a second medical opinion, the organisation's contribution to staff care, and some interesting new data on the effects of work/life balance management not just on individuals but also on their families.
