Senior People Capacity and Development Manager

Maduri leads People In Aid’s international HR Services team. In her role she manages People In Aid's core membership products and services, ensuring member agencies are engaged and supported through certification; coordinates the delivery of high quality research reports and publications; and manages and develops the consultancy services offered by People In Aid.

Maduri's other responsibilities include management of the Global Rewards Programme, chairing the annual European humanitarian HR conferences, project managing and reporting on projects, such as START. She also leads on performance reporting to donor grants, such as DFID, including impact measurement and organisational learning.

Maduri gained more than five years experience within learning and talent management in the private sector before moving to the humanitarian and development sector, starting to work for People In Aid in 2006. Prior to joining People In Aid, Maduri took a sabbatical in 2005 to volunteer for a local Sri Lankan NGO and has previously enjoyed voluntary work with a London-based Tamil Women's Advocacy Group.

Maduri has a Bachelors degree in Cell Biology from King's College London (2000) and a Masters in International Business Management from the University of Surrey (2001). She is a member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is both Level A & B qualified in psychological testing (through the British Psychological Society, 2006). In her downtime, Maduri enjoys gardening and spending time with family and friends.

People Capacity and Development Manager

In her role of HR Services Manager, Emmanuelle primarily leads on resources, workshops and events as well facilitating various networking groups for members.

She also coordinates People In Aid's international activities, working in close collaboration with regional consultants. In addition to this, her position includes a business development capacity.

After a couple of years work in the commercial world where she started to build her HR career, Emmanuelle joined the sector in early 2005 as part of the International Personal Team at the British Red Cross. Her time with BRCS included a year as the HR & Admin Delegate in its bilateral programme in the Maldives. She then moved to Save the Children in the Emergency HR Team in September 2008, before joining People in Aid in June 2011.

Emmanuelle holds a French Licence in Business Administration and a BA(Hons) in European Politics. She is also a member of the UK's Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

In her spare time, Emmanuelle enjoys urban photography, street dance and discovering new cultures, whether around the corner or across the world.

Communications Manager

Siobhan joined us as Communications Manager in 2015 and brings over ten years of programme and communications experience from the social enterprise and international development sectors. Siobhan is responsible for managing communications channels and resources for our members, including our website, member communications and social media. She is also responsible for ensuring that our member network benefits from our resources and tools.

Siobhan has a Masters in International Development and her most recent role was as Programme Manager at Integrity Action, working closely with partner organisations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East on issues of integrity and accountability. Prior to this she worked as Digital and Web Manager at Cafedirect, one of the UK's leading Fairtrade brands. Siobhan lives in London and when she is not working she enjoys seeing films, travelling to new places and running.

Communications Officer

Emily joined People In Aid as Communications Officer in 2015. In this role she supports the Communications Manager in creating and distributing resources for People In Aid members across website, social media, and print publications.

Prior to joining People In Aid, Emily's most recent communications role was at in Vanuatu at a national disability charity, the Vanuatu Society for Disabled People (VSDP). Emily also has experience working with the Australian press, having articles published by Australian Associated Press and The Sydney Morning Herald. Having recently relocated to London, Emily enjoys exploring the city and sampling its food and coffee offerings.

Head of Finance

Emma Firth  /

Emma is People In Aid's Head of Finance and is responsible for financial advice and guidance to the organisation, primarily at a strategic level, which involves overseeing all aspects of financial reporting both internally and externally, as well as providing assistance to the Executive Director and Finance Manager, ad hoc projects and financial planning.

Emma qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a top 20 firm of accountants and has experience in working with a wide variety of businesses in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors ranging from start-up businesses to multi-million organisations, as well as holding a training role where she trained accountants working in public practice. Post-qualification she worked in public practice and ran her own businesses for several years. Prior to joining People In Aid in October 2010 she held strategic financial roles in an international development charity and a national animal welfare charity.

Emma grew up in South Africa and Cheshire, went to University in St Andrews and now lives in Oxfordshire. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, cycling and learning Spanish.

Finance Manager

Frank Ward is part-time Finance Manager at People In Aid, a post he has held since August 2014. His role is to run the financial operations - sales and purchases, payroll and pensions, cash flow and foreign currency management. He has worked in Finance and Administration in the charity/voluntary sector, in a variety of jobs, for 35 years.

In his spare time he enjoys cycling, walking and supporting his grandson's football team.

Operations Manager

Carol is the Operations Manager at People In Aid, responsible for the smooth running of the office, relationships with suppliers, the membership application and renewal process, incoming communications and event logistics, and supporting the Board of Trustees and the Director with management and governance tasks.

She joined People In Aid in June 2013. Previously Carol worked for 10 years in international development and 20 years in the charitable/not-for-profit sector, most recently as Operations Director at The Market Research Society. She is a Chartered Biologist and has an MBA from Henley Management College. Born, bred and still living in South London, she enjoys films, theatre, reading and travelling. She volunteers as a mentor for young women working in charities, and as an assessor for a local NHS Trust’s leadership assessment centre for community nurses.

Operations Coordinator

Abigail Jones, joined People In Aid in 2015 as Operations Coordinator. Abigail provides support for the People In Aid team in delivering a wide range of memberships products and services. In her role, she focuses on events and the smooth running of the office in general.

Abigail has a Masters degree in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS. Whilst studying, she volunteered as an Advocacy Assistant for Human Rights Concern Eritrea. Following this, she worked in Zimbabwe as a project researcher on a national social welfare program. Abigail grew up in Zimbabwe and has trained and worked as an artist. In her spare time she continues to make and exhibit art.

Senior Fundraising Manager

Esther is the Senior Fundraising Manager for People in Aid. She joined the team in 2015 and manages People in Aid’s fundraising with a range of partners, including corporate and trusts and foundations, as well as working with institutional donors and leading on the organisation’s fundraising strategy.

A regular visitor to the Balkans during the conflicts in the Former Yugoslavia, Esther went on to work in Kosovo for three years, managing a counter-trafficking project and running an NGO which worked with widows and orphans from areas particularly affected by the war. There she also worked on a publication on Women’s participation in the Economy. In the UK, she has worked in international development charities in fundraising, including CARE International and Doctors of the World, raising six figure grants for international programmes and grant management with a range of donors, as well as previously being the Vice Chair for Tumaini Homes of Hope, a charity supporting children affected or infected by HIV/AIDs in Kenya.

Esther holds an MSc in Global Development Management from the Open University and a BA Hons in French and Spanish from UCL. Esther loves travelling, discovering London, socialising with family and friends and speaks French, Spanish and Albanian fluently.

Arriving at Heathrow Airport:

Heathrow airport is on the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground train system and the journey to the Holloway Road station takes approximately one hour.


Taxis from Heathrow to Resource for London take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

From St Pancras (Eurostar):

After arriving at St Pancras International Station follow signs to Kings Cross Underground and take the Piccadilly Line eastbound to Holloway Road station. The journey will take approximately 6 minutes. Alternatively taxis from St Pancras International to Resource for London take approximately 10 minutes.

By London Underground train:

Take the Piccadilly line to Holloway Road station. On leaving the station turn left and walk under the railway bridge for 5 minutes. Resource for London is on the opposite side of the road and can be reached by using the pedestrian crossing.

By bus:

Buses 4, 17, 29, 43, 153, 253, 259, 271, 279 and X43 stop within a short walk of Resource for London. Also there are mobility buses available in the area, these are numbers 920, 921, 923 and 927.

We take complaints from our members seriously and have a procedure which will escalate such complaints, if necessary, to our Board of Trustees. This procedure is available for any member to see. The procedure covers complaints about our services and outputs, our staff as well as complaints about our members. The procedure does not propose action on disputes between our members and their own employees or volunteers, for which we are mandated simply to suggest ways of redress and consultation which could or should be available.
